During the 6-week period the library was closed for renovations, staff met to develop the Library’s 3-year strategic plan.

The team members of Werner Medical Library (WML) held a series of meetings in May and June to develop a 3-year strategic plan for the Library. Results from a recent online survey of people who use the WML were important factors in planning, and were incorporated into the decisions made during the Strategic Planning process.

The documents developed during these sessions include an updated description of the WML, and mission, vision and values statements.

Four strategic priorities were identified:

1.  Increase library use among target audiences and achieve a greater impact across RRHS
2.  Collaborate to improve teamwork and operations and strengthen important relationships
3.  Create a cutting-edge, full-scale library system to serve and support the newly merged enterprise
4.  Address the library’s evolving workforce needs for the future

Library staff will soon begin working on the implementation phase of the plan, which will involve setting up assignments and establishing deadlines.

The mission, vision and values statements may be found on the library’s website.
