Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS)

Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is a severe respiratory illness caused by a coronavirus (MERS‐CoV) that was first identified in Saudi Arabia in 2012. Symptoms include fever, coughing, and shortness of breath. One third of those who contract this disease have died.
