Werner Medical Library’s librarians contribute to the body of professional library knowledge at local and national levels. Here are their most recent accomplishments.
Mary Ann Howie presented “From the Library to the Bedside” at the Rochester Regional Library Council’s Silo Busting Event. Her program partners volunteer services with the library to provide health information to patients on the cardiac unit.
Mentoring new hospital librarians from the Middle Atlantic Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine was the topic of Tami Hartzell’s lightening talk at the recent Medical Library Association conference in Toronto.
Rachel Becker provides library services to Newark Wayne, Clifton Springs and Dansville hospitals. Rachel presented a poster at the recent Medical Library Association conference in Toronto on her successful marketing efforts to these sites.
Outreach to Rochester General’s Internal Medicine residents was the topic of Bonnie Archer’s poster at the recent Medical Library Association conference in Toronto. Bonnie’s efforts, which included the provision of chocolate, resulted in a significant increase of library use among the residents.
